Sputnik I Logo

The first Sputnik returns! Featuring the original v1 circuit, with a twist - the Sputnik I is powered by NOS silicon transistors, which take this Sputnik to a whole new level.

NO COMPROMISE

Bringing the Sputnik circuit back to a compact enclosure for the first time since 2013, Sputnik I also introduces silicon transistors to the Sputnik line. Sputnik I delivers all the texture, warmth, and mojo of the original while adding the benefits of rock-solid stability and consistency. Free from the quirks of germanium: noise, temperature sensitivity, and fragility - Sputnik I: Silicon Fuzz arrives as the most dependable and streamlined version of the circuit to date.

SMALLER FOOTPRINT, BIGGER SOUND

The silicon transistors bring their own sonic edge, offering additonal gain levels to go further than any Sputnik to date. We’ve also included the updated Scan control from the Sputnik IIb, expanding your tonal shaping options while preserving the untamed spirit of Drift Mode. In keeping with the original, the Sputnik I has no input transformer, making it more lively, while providing a wider frequency range. It’s the Sputnik III’s wild younger sibling, with a sound and feel that’s an absolute joy to play.

Sputnik I delivers remarkable tonal versatility. The Range control spans everything from light overdrive to thick, sustained fuzz, while the unique Calibrate control shapes your tone in dynamic interaction with it — unlocking an even broader spectrum of sounds. And that’s only scratching the surface of what the Sputnik I can do.

Alongside the three main control knobs, Sputnik I features two toggle switches: Filter and Sync/Drift. The Filter switch engages a second tone circuit, instantly doubling your tonal palette. Switch to Drift Mode, and Sputnik transforms - unleashing synth-like tones, oscillation, pseudo-octaves, 8-bit artifacts, and more. The mini Scan control adds another layer of precision, making every parameter highly interactive in Drift Mode, including your instrument’s own controls. Go subtle or go extreme - you can shape it, tame it, or let it run wild.

Sputnik I delivers an uncommonly wide orbit of fuzz tones; from smooth and vintage to splatty, sputtery, and completely off-the-rails. Exceptionally responsive and versatile, the Sputnik I: Silicon Fuzz is ready to propel you into new sonic galaxies, where soaring sustain, rich textures, and cosmic levels of chaos await.
